Invigorate the Engine of Our Economy - Jobs

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

Jobs = Home Buying = Economic Recovery
Without the housing industry, we have no economic recovery!

Unless you have inherited a bundle, won the lottery or are on a Gov. pension, the simple dynamic is, a person needs to be able to afford what she/he wants to have.
This means solid, dependable, private employment of our population.
There is constant dialog on 'Economic Growth' but it all has no meaning if YOU are hurting!
Creating, supporting, encouraging and promoting independent private entrepreneurial endeavors is the key!
The Housing Industry relates to most every aspect of our Economy. There are many, many industries that are supported by it. Construction workers, Const. Co's., engineers, heavy equip., raw materials, building materials, appliances, trucking, property taxes, City/State/County services, architects, banking, title Co's, ME, etc., etc..
When the housing market is in a slump, so many other parts of our economy dry up.
Support local private businesses and industry.
Shop local and promote those businesses that have proven track records.

Disaster Preparedness Plan 101

How soon we forget our own major disaster of 1989, the Loma Prieta Earthquake.  It change and ended lives, was a major pause in the San Francisco Bay area and our own Monterey Bay.  Nary a mention in our local newspaper - amazing!  But we did get a suttle reminder Oct. 20, just last week.   Just keep'in us on our toes!
Even when life is going great, it's wise to make sure you have you and your families safety planned for.  A few tips follow, for all of us to have at the ready when disaster of this type strikes.
Start with a plan for any disaster.  Keep your Disaster Preparedness Management Plan up-to-date, get into the right habits and disasters turn into an exercise in confidence and control of your life, helping and teaching those around you personal responsibility and care.
Once you determine you and yours are OK,  see what you can do to help others including our four legged friends.

The times, they are a change'in make them for the better.

Private Property Ownership = Liberty!

Read this great article by our NAR President Published in the Washington Times, want to share it with all of you since it really sums up what is important in our country!

Another take on why Home Ownership is so important to America and how things went awry!  The American Dream is the result of hard work, sacrafice, and responsible spending.  Life always throws curves, its how you deal with them that proves out the character and resourcfulness of an individual.

This is a definte possibility if the economy worsens and jobs arn't allowed to be created.  Your tax dollars at work for those that don't.
Our NAR has a response to this and it is definitly structured to aid the homeowners, small inverstors and keep Government out of the home buying and selling business.  If the private individual is allowed to purchase property he is qualified for, why make the housing industry stay on the ropes??
The engine of our economy will contine to struggle if the Government continues to intervene, create unnecessary agencies, bureacracies and regulations that hinder this normal process.

I love to do what I do BEST.
Call me, I'd love to see YOU in the American Dream

Do'in it right the first time, saves money

So you wanted to save some money . . . .

We all want to spend as little as is needed, especially when it is not on the fun stuff. Insulating the attic, home repair and improvement that is not seen, having a new roof put on because of a roof leak. It has gotten rather popular to venture into the DIY (do it yourself) experience,  watch some videos on how to replace windows and give it a whirl yourself.

Well that old adage of measure twice, cut once will fit right in here. Do it right, with the right tools and the trained/experienced professional the first time and you won’t have regrets. Cut corners . . .

and the aggravation of finding out several years later that someone forgot to put something together right, can really be disruptive to your living environment. Let me tell you!

No matter what the area of expertise, the right professional, with the right tools is what will save you in so many ways in the long run.

When it's Real Estate,  there is so much to be aware of.  Whether it be purchasing, leasing, having your property managed or selling, to not know the laws, regulations, or local codes, could cost you, not just finacially.  The stress and wasted time are incalcuable.  It's so important to choose and experienced, qualified professional Realtor.

Professionalism Distinguishes the Best!

THIS REAL ESTATE MARKET STINKS!

Eh, Maybe not!
Yes, prices have declined - but weren’t they over inflated in the first place, rising at unbelievable leaps and bounds since the mid 90’s??
The unfortunate manipulation of the banking laws, the interaction between commercial banks and investments houses and the blind eye by Congress instead of oversight and protection of Americas’ financial interests at home and abroad set the stage. Greed and excess has run it’s course like a juggernaut, inflicting indiscriminate destruction. Many, many people have lost homes, most that didn’t qualify for home ownership in the first place and some are those that are the unfortunate victims of job loss or cutbacks because of the economy and the myriad of life changes that have a financial impact.
Yes, there is a shake-out going on, a blood letting for some and a rude awakening for those that were riding high on someone else’s dime. None of it FAIR!

But there are tremendous opportunities going on as long as one is qualified. Prices have been reduced dramatically, if it is a distressed property, and the supply is plentiful.! Interest rates are at historic lows so this actually is a tremendous time to buy Real Estate, if you qualify for loans or have that magical item - CASH. Amazing how many investors do!!

Look around my website - there are so many Deals to be had both in Santa Cruz and my beloved Lake Tahoe.

Here is a property that is absolute GOLD, don't miss it.

Liar Loans - AGAIN?

Can't believe this is in Full Swing again. Where are the regulations, regulators, Congressional oversight, the transparency?
Why are these loans being offered again? This is what exacerbated the problem of No enforcement of regulations, and No Congressional Oversight, all the while, well connected politicians were reaping these loans, along with the 'folks'!! and it wasn't the top of the Food Chain that went to prison, just the average Joe.
Yes, this was just one of several facets that caused this Real Estate bubble to burst, so why quietly get this engine up and running again??
What ever you do, DON'T get caught up in this second round of deceit. It will only bode ill for you and your finances. A part of this puzzle that is not 'Found out' till after the signing of doc's are all the details no one bothered to tell the borrowers. Time/money triggers or Balloon payments that are the downfall of many a family.

There are plenty of loans out there for those that qualify. If you can't afford to own a home, that is just the way it is. Responsible spending, saving and just plain old living within your means should be the norm not these crazy gymnastics created by politicians for votes!

For honest, proven Lenders and Mortgage Brokers that won't sell you down the river for a commission, call me! I have worked with the BEST and have proven them out!!

Moving Blues

I was so glad to see this article since I just experienced this my self.
http://glozal.com/profiles/blogs/moving-scams?xg_source=msg_mes_network
The scammers never cease to invent new ways to cheat, lie or otherwise perpetrate a fraud willy nilly on whom ever, especially the least that can afford this kind of deceit. So beware of these ones, they are in high activity mode with all these home losses.

True Friends - A Health Tip!

A Great Gal pal sent this to me recently and I want to pass it along as a "Health Tip". Don't discount True Friends!

Hi ~

An interesting and informative piece for women about friendships ... They Teach It at Stanford

A friend of mine just finished taking an evening class at Stanford. The last lecture was on the mind-body connection - the relationship between stress and disease. The speaker (head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married to a woman whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do for her health was to nurture her relationships with her girlfriends. At first everyone laughed, but he was serious. Women connect with each other differently and provide support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. Physically this quality “girlfriend time" helps us to create more serotonin - a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and can create a general feeling of well being. Women share feelings whereas men often form relationships around activities. They rarely sit down with a buddy and talk about how they feel about certain things or how their personal lives are going. Jobs? Yes. Sports? Yes. Cars? Yes. Fishing, hunting, golf? Yes. But their feelings? Rarely. Women do it all of the time. We share from our souls with our sisters/mothers, and evidently that is very good for our health. He said that spending time with a friend is just as important to our general health as jogging or working out at a gym. There's a tendency to think that when we are "exercising" we are doing something good for our bodies, but when we are hanging out with friends, we are wasting our time and should be more productively engaged—not true. In fact, he said that failure to create and maintain quality personal relationships with other humans is as dangerous to our physical health as smoking! So every time you hang out to schmooze with a gal pal, just pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for doing something good for your health! We are indeed very, very lucky. Sooooo let's toast to our friendship with our girlfriends. Evidently it's very good for our health." -

A Charlie Sheen Day

While sitting on yet another ‘Open House’ with intermittent rain coming down, praying for that elusive qualified buyer to walk through the door hopefully with an agent that has done all their homework, I start to ruminate on over thirty years of Realtor experiences. This never gets boring!

Could write a book with some of this stuff!

Some of the stunts I have experienced have been wild, nauseating, funny, Be-zar!, and epic!

What triggered this post, was a time, 25 years ago, I was previewing properties for someone wanting to be in the mountains - a remote retreat to --- get away from it all.

Plotted out a few to check out, made appointments days in advance, called the morning of, and called to give each occupant their 15 minute warning call! You would think that would eliminate any one being caught ‘off guard’ right!

The first home and mind you this is 11 a.m., was a real Charlie Sheen moment! Knock, ring bell (literally a bell), a female comes to the door with a vacant stare, I explain who I am ( as if it mattered) she allows me in through a haze of smoke filtering around house, I proceed into the main open area, am offered a Hooka tentacle and told to make my self at home and what am I looking for?? Miscellaneous persons laying about and the remnants of all kinds of debris intermingled in the scene. Must have been going on like this for days. Peace and Later - much later!

The second mountain home ‘viewing’ was of the same vein. Went through the calling/warning ‘I’m coming’ routine. Knock on the door, ring the bell, knock, ring - use lock box! Open door, yell REALTOR!! Yell some more as I proceed. Go upstairs - HELLO -REALTOR, poking around, opening doors, talking loudly, push open bedroom door to ---- a couple definitely enjoying the SHOW they were putting on. Not a word was said, they didn’t miss a beat and I decided they were not even the least bit interested in selling this house.

My last stop of the day, it was about 1:00 in the after noon and I am greeted at the front door by a towel draped woman (the owner) 50ish, blithely wilting around, clutching this towel and ready to drop it at the slightest hint of interest. Being stunned/repulsed by this show, I after taking a couple steps inside, spun on my heel and made a hasty exit. No excuses rendered.

Later that week, having an inspection done on a property in escrow, the inspector and I were greeted at the front door by the owner in his Birthday suit! He asked if he would be needed for anything or if he could accompany us. He was advise to dress otherwise he could end up losing something and a pair of sturdy shoes would be advisable too!

This business uncovers some very lonely and depraved folks out there. It also airs real life. To be a Realtor you have to develop skills way beyond tracking interest rates, neighborhood sales, comparables, the Best schools. This is a real ‘slice of life’ business.

I’ve got more! Fill you in soon!.
