Glad to read and experience people making positive moves in Real Estate again.

An Honor and a Privilege

Recently I had the Honor and Privilege of  facilitating the  home purchase  of  one of our Bravest and Best in our Military,  with a VA Loan.  This is a man that served three tours in Afghanistan, being awarded two purple hearts.
These brave men and women that protect our country, our families on our soil and where they are sent, risking everything they have known.  The courage, selflessness and national pride that they represent, is humbling to be around.  The focus, patience and clarity in which every aspect of their lives is undertaken has a calming effect.   This had a thought provoking and changing effect on me, even at my age!  There should be every benefit available to these standout citizens, that know the meaning of freedom, liberty and oppression, tyranny and barbarianism.

I am so happy to have a team of experts on all the aspects of VA Loans that had been exceptional in guiding the entire process from writing the initial contract in a clean and acceptable design, to anticipating and resolving issues professionally, quickly and non-disruptive to every ones emotions ~~  this is a very emotional, stressful time.  A quick read about the VA basics is here!

Yes, VA loans are different and they take planning, more so than a conventional.  They are well worth it for both parties.  To know you have "Been There"  for that person trained to always be ready and protect us all, is a 'No Brainer'.

Arriving at the Summit of El Capitan

BACK TO RECIPES

Once you see the first neighborhood door bearing an Indian corn bouquet, two things tend to come to mind: Halloween and pumpkins. While Halloween is practically a national holiday in America, Europe has joined us in full force. In fact, Halloween is the world’s second-largest commercial holiday after Christmas and each year, from the beginning of October, there are plenty of events and colorful parades taking place throughout Europe. Since Columbus brought the seeds back to the Old World, Europe has embraced the virtues of pumpkin-based cuisine. This quick-and-easy recipe leaves time to add a final flourish of candied walnuts, thyme and thin parmesan shavings over each colorful bowlful.

INGREDIENTS

2 T olive oil
1 shallot, minced
1 yellow onion, minced
2 (28 oz) cans pumpkin puree
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp ground cumin
6 C low sodium vegetable or chicken broth
3/4 C grated parmesan cheese, optional

GARNISH

1/2 C sour cream
1/4 C candied walnuts
Small thyme sprigs
Parmesan shavings

DIRECTIONS

Place olive oil in a large saucepan. Add shallots and onions and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Stir in pumpkin puree, salt, pepper, cumin and broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese. To serve, ladle into bowls and garnish with sour cream, walnuts, thyme and parmesan shavings.

Makes 6-8 servings.

Our San Francisco Giants did it

The long hours, the nerve tingling sweats ~ nail biting, pacing, hours of workouts, concentration and devotion to perfection.  The undetered focus, focus, focus for the ultimate goal of being the best there is in what you do ~~ and this was just me! ~   In my little world.
Think of what The SF Giant's team was going through on an individual basis.  How the inteplays of their lives were put on hold and the concentration of purpose for this one event had to laser point.

They did it, The San Francisco Giants proved their metal and inner strength.  Bochy proved his too!
All Winners, Champions that show what team work and raw devotion accomplishes.

Way to Go Giants, We are All Proud of you!  and Madison's daddy too!

The World Series ~ Our Giants

Watching sports is not on my activity list.  
Hence, rarely has there come along a group of athletes that I have really cared to watch.  
The talent, that has been on display by the Giants though, to this casual observer, is note worthy.
So much so, I have been compelled to pen some of my observations of those that have propelled Our Giants   to the stature they are rising too.
The Stoic and focused accuracy of Bumgarner, his concentration and serenity in the midst of absolute roaring tumult brings to mind the functioning of a laser.  Nothing veers him from the target or takes him off course.
Sandoval, a powerhouse of purpose.  His ability to thrust himself to succeed, be 100+% and to perform with a grace not expected.  Hidden talents called upon at the right time and place.
Panick, what the Giants don't have to do with Joe on board.  This soon to be 24 year old has the perception  of an 'Old pro'.  Reading every movement of the game, with '360 degree' awarness and the look of a 'Sweet Young Kid', he is all that will be the winning formula for years to come with the Giants.
Pence, an incredible workhorse. The Game maker.  The glue of the team.  The way he dogs the ball, leaps, runs and stretches the limits ~ amazing to watch.  If he is not MVP someone needs a thrashing.

I am in withdrawals, so I write to ease the void.  I love great talent no matter what it is.  Art, cooking, music, champagne, physical agility ~ ah 
so many aspects of life to do well in!!

Is this the year that . . . . . ?

. . . .  the health of the Real Estate world will stabalize?

Been hearing, for years now, that we are back to a "Normal" Real Estate market and then look in the rear view mirror to see  ~~~  not so much!

I, like many in my profession,  have been reading the standard sources we have been led to believe are the trades' banner information pulse points.  But you have to dig deeper, keep your ears to the ground because, yes, in this business, it's all about the dirt and what is fertilizing it!!

Watching what the  Wall St. Real Estate Sydicators are doing, is far more important than the publications that tell you what has happened, well after they have closed deals on billions of $$$$$ of foreclosed homes.

These are the Bailout Babies, the Investment Bankers' "Devices", to capitalize on the forclosure debacle.
To see if the market will stabalizes for the general population here's the fertilizer.

When you see Blackstone, Coloney, Oaktree and their ilk pausing their purchasing in areas, thats when the prices have risen out of the investor/profit margin.  The choice foreclosures have been snapped up.
They with the deep pockets, that only pay attention to the dollars, not the dahlias that have been nurtured in the landscaping or the measurement markings on the kitchen wall.
"They" are moving on to greener pastures where their bulk buying power can turn a market on a dime.

The average "Joe"  will have a chance to own but the price has already started creeping up.  If you are looking for the longterm, it's time to live the dream, dive in, otherwise you will really loose out.
Set YOUR roots, make your memories, put holes in the walls for YOUR pictures.

When will the Real Estate World stabalize?   When you become and Owner and not a renter!
When you chose to make the commitment for the biggest purchase of your life, in a realistic way.
